MODERN SLAVERY STATEMENT

This statement has been created in compliance with Section 54, Part 6 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. Slavery and human trafficking remain a hidden blight on our global society and is a crime which violates fundamental human rights. Shelbourne Motors operate a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business activities and relationships. We all have a responsibly to be alert to the risks, however small, in our business and in the wider supply chain. Staff are expected to report concerns and management are expected to act upon them. This statement sets out the steps Shelbourne Motors and subsidiaries have taken to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking.

ORGANISATION’S STRUCTURE

Shelbourne Motors Limited is the parent company of the Shelbourne Motors Group. Established in 1973 we are a multi-franchise vehicle retailer specialising in new & used vehicle sales, vehicle servicing, maintenance & repair & associated services. Based in Northern Ireland with suppliers throughout the UK & Ireland as well as Global vehicle manufacturers. The group companies consist of:

Shelbourne Motors Limited

SVRGo Ltd

The group has an annual turnover in excess of £115m and currently employs 180 team members.

OUR SUPPLY CHAINS

Shelbourne Motors seek to engage suppliers where the relationship is based on trust, respect and transparency. Through our processes, we aim to drive all suppliers to meet Shelbourne Motors high expectations and standards of business practices.

Shelbourne Motors also encourage suppliers to promote Corporate Social Responsibility practices throughout their own supply chains.

Shelbourne Motors uses a wide variety of national and local suppliers to source goods, services and equipment for the day to day running of its business. Specifically we work with a number of vehicle manufacturers, funders, motor dealerships and agencies. The directors recognise the importance of understanding the integrity of our supply chain and act with diligence when reviewing suppliers to ensure the risk of slavery and human trafficking is reduced throughout the organisation. Where we are unable to satisfy ourselves that a supplier is not aligned to the Modern Slavery Act 2015 we will firstly work with the that supplier to ensure compliance or failing that, terminate the contract.

The following policies are available to all staff through the Shelbourne induction:

  • Code of conduct
  • Ethics policy
  • Speak Up policy
  • Bullying and harassment policy
  • Diversity and inclusion policy
  • Recruitment and selection policy

OUR POLICIES ON SLAVERY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING

We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business. Our Anti-slavery Policy reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains. Our culture of good governance is underpinned by our zero tolerance to modern slavery and we expect the same attitude from all who work for us and those supplying to us. We have a complete suite of policies in place which include Whistle Blowing, Business Ethics, Equal Opportunities and Recruitment, all of which deal with the anti-slavery initiatives either directly or indirectly.

DUE DILIGENCE PROCESSES FOR SLAVERY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING

Where possible we build long standing relationships with our suppliers and make clear our expectations of business behaviour. We expect these entities to have suitable anti-slavery and human trafficking policies and processes. We expect each entity adopt ‘one-up’ due diligence on the next link in the chain. It is not practical for us to have a direct relationship with all links. We have in place systems to encourage the reporting of concerns and the protection of whistle blowers. We undertake due diligence when considering taking on new clients and suppliers.

TRAINING

To ensure a level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and business, including awareness-raising of the signs of modern slavery, we have provided briefings to our Directors and employees.
